May 14, 2022 - The Department of Education (DepEd), through Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, wholeheartedly gives thanks to our teachers and personnel who served in the just concluded 2022 National and Local Elections.

The nation has once again witnessed the bravery and dedication of our large association of teachers who fully shared their contributions to the safe and proper conduct of this year's election.

We wish to return the favor to our teachers by continuously collaborating with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in the release of their poll honoraria and other allowances on or on May 24, 2022, as stated in the COMELEC Resolution No. 10727. We will also recognize the five (5) days service credit for those who served as members of the Electoral Boards and DESO, and their support staff.

Besides, proposed by the DepEd Election Task Force (ETF), led by Vice Secretary Alain Del B. Pascua, with Director Marc Bragado as operations head, at COMELEC the additional P3,000 salary across the board for the extra time allocated by some teachers due to VCM and SD card issues.

The public is reminded that the COMELEC is responsible for the processing and issuance of election-related honoraria. However, the DepEd is proactively looking for ways to pay our teachers more for their electoral services, with the help of the policies of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and Commission of Audit (COA) and with the assistance of Congress.
