Malacañang declares May 3 non-working holiday for Eid'l Fitr
President Duterte has declared May 3, 2022, Tuesday, a regular holiday in the country in observance of the Eid’l Fitr, that marks the end of month of Ramadan.
In Proclamation No. 1356, the President Duterte said the nation should have a full opportunity to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in peace and harmony in the observance of Eid’l Fitr subject to community quarantine and social distancing measures.

DECLARING TUESDAY, 03 MAY 2022, A REGULAR HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY IN OBSERVANCE OF EID'L FITR (FEAST OF RAMADHAN) WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9177 declared the first day of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar, as a regular holiday throughout the country for the observance of Eidul Fitr (Eid'l Fitr);
WHEREAS, the entire Filipino nation should have the full opportunity to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in peace and harmony in the observance and celebration of Eidl Fitr, subject to the public health measures of the national government:
WHEREAS, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos has recommended to declare Tuesday, 03 May 2022, a national holiday in observance of Eid'l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan); and
WHEREAS, in order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eidl Fitr to the fore of national consciousness, it is necessary to declare Tuesday, 03 May 2022, a regular holiday throughout the country.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Tuesday, 03 May 2022, a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid! Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan).
